Veneziano Coffee Roasters
Brewing coffee with a conscience
Veneziano Coffee Roasters is more than just a café or roastery—it’s a hub for coffee innovation and social impact. Since opening its Richmond café and head office in 2002, Veneziano has grown from a small batch to a talented and growing team, committed to making a positive and meaningful impact to coffee businesses across Australia.
Coffee with significance
From bean to cup, Veneziano is dedicated to coffee with significance—creating exceptional experiences while driving meaningful change. Their mission is to inspire positive evolution in the coffee industry, with a strong focus on social and environmental responsibility.

As a certified B Corporation and Carbon Neutral Organisation (certified by Climate Active), Veneziano is committed to using business as a force for good—continuously improving how they source, serve, and sustain coffee for the long term.

"We understand that it is only by implementing sustainable and socially responsible business practices today, that future generations will be able to enjoy coffee, tomorrow."
Veneziano Coffee Roasters Founder, Craig Dickson
Taking ownership of cup waste
While Veneziano encourages the use of reusable cups and promotes a vibrant dine-in coffee culture, the reality of café operations means takeaway cups are still in use.

“It’s our cup. It’s our brand. We have a responsibility here.”

Recognising this, Veneziano partnered with Simply Cups to introduce dedicated recycling units in their cafés—providing customers with a simple and clear way to recycle single-use paper coffee cups, which cannot go in regular recycling bins.

Taking it a step further
According to Veneziano, the biggest challenge in waste management is not logistics—it’s education. Both staff and customers are navigating a recycling system that is often ambiguous and inconsistent across Australia.
“The system is really easy and clear to understand. Education is the real challenge—not just for customers, but also for ourselves. Recycling in Australia is complicated and often unclear. Simply Cups helps demystify that.”

To further encourage participation, Veneziano runs a cup return incentive:

Customers who bring back seven takeaway cups receive a free coffee as a thank-you for doing their part.
Going beyond the cup
Veneziano’s sustainability focus extends far beyond cup recycling. Their broader efforts reflect a deep commitment to environmental responsibility and community engagement:
