Far North Queensland Collections 2026
Jump to:
Physical collections in Far North Queensland are temporarily paused.
To make sure your cups continue to be recovered and recycled, we’re moving FNQ sites to a courier-based system using a reusable 70L coreflute box.
This is a temporary change while long-term collection services are reviewed.
No. Nothing changes in terms of recycling outcomes. Your material is still weighed, recorded under your customer ID and recycled through the Simply Cups program exactly as before.
Most do. A small number of Cairns-based sites will continue with normal physical collections. If your site is receiving this FAQ, you’re part of the new courier-based system.
You’ll receive four reusable coreflute boxes during the final December collection run. After that, the process is simple:
Place empty cups in the box
Seal it when full
Keep two spare boxes onsite
Closed Loop will call you before your usual collection date
A courier will collect your full box
We’ve designed this so it requires no extra work for your team.
Just seal it and store it safely. You don’t need to organise anything. We’ll contact you ahead of your regular collection window to confirm whether a pickup is needed.
No. Your boxes arrive with the key information already applied.
If a label is needed prior to collection, we’ll email it to you with simple instructions, or the courier will bring it on the day.
Not at all. The courier collects your sealed box and takes care of the rest.
Please keep four boxes in rotation, with two spares ready for future pickups.
If you’re running low, we’ll organise more.
Five business days before your usual collection date. That call is simply to check:
whether your box is ready
whether you have enough spare boxes
whether you need any additional support
Typically between 3–5 business days.
Just let us know. We’ll send them in packs of four to make sure you always have what you need.
